Community Connections

We believe in creating opportunities for people to contribute to their communities, to pursue their potential, and to be treated with dignity and respect. What began as a service offering at our Saco Community program, our Community Connections program upholds our beliefs, and has now expanded to be offered at all five locations in Saco, South Portland, Auburn, and Augusta. This unique, dynamic, and diverse community access program seeks to build communities of inclusion one relationship, one experience, and one person at a time by providing opportunities for adults with disabilities to actively and genuinely participate in their communities.

Community Connections’ goal is to open up community-based and outdoor experiences to the people we serve, encouraging them to get out into the world and into their communities. Designed with several outings a week in mind, Community Connections offers a wide variety of scheduled daily outings, including:

  • volunteering

  • exercising

  • photography

  • hiking

  • tours

  • dining out

  • fishing

  • bowling

  • shopping

  • and much more!
