Stephen Hawkes

Senior Director of Human Resources

As Senior Director of Human Resources, Stephen is responsible for overseeing all HR-related operations. As a member of the Creative Works senior management team, Stephen focuses largely on employee relations, benefits, and personnel policy. Stephen has over 19 years of tenure with the organization, and has worked in a number of different roles over this time period. He enjoys working at Creative Works because of the optimistic, inclusive, and forward-thinking company culture.


Caty Foy

Human Resources Coordinator

As Human Resources Coordinator, Caty is responsible for onboarding new employees and coordinating the orientation process. Caty also manages employee leaves of absences, workers’ compensation claims, and short-term disability claims. She answers benefits questions, and assists in the benefits enrollment process. What she enjoys most about working at Creative Works is the way the organization recognizes and appreciates the value of each individual and the sense that all members of the organization, whether employees or those whom we support, are a part of one big family.

 

Emily Bottino

Director of Learning & Development

As the Director of Learning and Development, Emily is responsible for the empowerment and growth of employees by expanding their knowledge, skills, capabilities, in order to provide supports to individuals with intellectual disabilities in Maine. She communicates with Maine’s Department of Health and Human Services to ensure that staff are compliant with current DHHS requirements. Emily also creates, updates, and customizes training material based on changing trends and specific staff needs at the various programs. Her favorite part of the job is challenging her students through a range of educational modalities including group discussion, role-playing, media, games, and practical and written assessments.

Dan Darigan

Talent Acquisition Specialist

As the Talent Acquisition Specialist for Creative Works, Dan is responsible for the recruitment of new hires, agency-wide. Dan attends several job fairs throughout the year and keeps up with new trends in the world of recruitment. Throughout the week, Dan focuses a majority of his time reviewing resumés, interviewing candidates and cultivating new talent.

 

Alexandra Schultz

Human Resources Assistant

As the HR Assistant, Alexandra assists each member of the HR team in any tasks that are needed. She is involved in each step of the interviewing and on-boarding process. Alexandra is also involved in maintaining all employee files so that they are compliant with state regulations. Her favorite elements of her job are collaborating with the HR team, making meaningful connections with staff, and supporting the overall mission of Creative Works.

Bryan McBride

Training Assistant

Bryan helps with training at Creative Works. He puts all the trainings like New Employee Orientation and First aid in the Master Training File—the electronic database that he helped create. He also creates certificates for most of the trainings, and disinfects CPR class materials. Bryan has been in this Training role for four years, and has been with Creative Works for 21 years as a participant. Bryan loves working at Creative Works because the employees care about who they represent.

 

Deena Day

Human Resources Generalist

As Human Resources Generalist, Deena is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the HR team.  Deena focuses largely on employee relations.  She has been in the social services field for over 12 years and with Creative Works for five years.  Deena has held a variety of positions and has a passion for the care of the people we serve.  Her favorite part of the job is building relationships with our staff and assisting them in any way she can.
